If you plan on any outfit changes during your session, please be aware that shoots are often held on location and may not always be close to changing facilities. Outfit changes will take up some of your session time, so please keep this in mind.
For family and/or children photo sessions, I recommend that you bring along a favourite toy/stuffed animal. I find that talking about their toy really gets children to open up, making them more cooperative.
Please make sure that your child has been fed and had a nap (if under the age of 4) before the photo session for a more comfortable and positive experience.
During a typical session, over a hundred photos will be taken. It is typical for a photographer to take multiple shots of the same pose, taking into account things such as people blinking and sudden movement (especially with children!). Images are carefully reviewed and the best images from your session are chosen for editing.
As a rule I do not give out RAW or “all unedited images” to clients. A lot of people ask for RAW files because they think it’s a higher quality file; the truth is that a RAW file is actually an unfinished product. It’s not directly usable – it needs to be edited using professional editing software. How a photographer edits a photo is part of their artistic identity. When you hire a photographer, you’re choosing them because you like how they capture the images and how the final product looks – we use the RAW files to create the finished product for you and that is what we sell; the final product.
